英语基础连接词：and, but, or, so, because 的用法精讲

核心规则

1. 并列与递进 (and): 连接两个或多个语法功能相同的成分，表示并列、添加或动作的先后顺序。

• I like coffee and tea. (我喜欢咖啡和茶。)

1. 转折与对比 (but): 连接两个意思相反或形成对比的部分，表示转折关系。

• He is young, but very experienced. (他很年轻，但经验丰富。)

1. 选择与否定 (or): 表示在两者或多者之间选择一个，或在否定句中连接并列成分。

• Would you like tea or coffee? (你想喝茶还是咖啡？)
• I don't like apples or oranges. (我不喜欢苹果和橘子。)

1. 结果 (so): 连接原因和结果，so 引导的部分表示前文所述情况导致的结果。

• It was raining, so we stayed at home. (下雨了，所以我们待在家里。)

1. 原因 (because): 用于解释原因或理由，引导的从句说明主句动作发生的原因。

• We stayed at home because it was raining. (我们待在家里，因为下雨了。)

常见误区

1. because 与 so 不能连用: 在同一个句子中，because（原因）和 so（结果）只能选用一个，不能同时出现。

• 错误: Because it was late, so we left.
• 正确: Because it was late, we left. 或 It was late, so we left.

1. 混淆 and 与 but 的逻辑: 要根据句子前后的实际逻辑关系选择连接词。表达顺承、添加用 and；表达相反、对比用 but。

• 错误: I was tired, and I finished the work. (如果强调“尽管累但还是完成了”，应用 but)
• 正确: I was tired, but I finished the work. (我很累，但我完成了工作。)

例句与解析

1. She opened the door and walked into the room. (她打开门，走进了房间。)

• 解析: and 连接两个先后发生的动作。

1. The movie was long, but it was very interesting. (这部电影很长，但非常有趣。)

• 解析: but 连接两个形成对比的评价。

1. You can pay by cash or credit card. (你可以用现金或信用卡支付。)

• 解析: or 提供两种支付方式的选择。

1. I studied hard, so I passed the exam. (我学习很努力，所以通过了考试。)

• 解析: so 引出“努力学习”带来的结果。

1. They canceled the trip because the weather was bad. (他们取消了旅行，因为天气不好。)

• 解析: because 说明取消旅行的直接原因。
